Scope of Work:

Join HMI as a Community Health Education Volunteer and make a difference by teaching newcomers about important health practices and available medical support. Your role will be vital in helping newcomers understand and access the healthcare services they need to stay healthy.


Time Commitment:

As needed, and as the volunteers are available

Location:

Community centers, virtual platforms, or HMI office

Location of support provided will be based on the need of the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Health Education: Provide instruction on essential health practices, preventive care, and available medical support.

  • Workshop Facilitation: Conduct workshops or one-on-one sessions on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and healthcare navigation.

  • Resource Distribution: Share educational materials and resources to enhance health knowledge and self-care practices.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Skills: Ability to teach and explain health concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Health Knowledge: Basic understanding of health practices and available medical resources.

  • Patience and Empathy: Ability to engage with individuals in a supportive and understanding manner.

  • Cultural Sensitivity: Respect and appreciation for diverse backgrounds to tailor education appropriately.
