A Celebration of Young Success: Motivated Youth Academy's Graduation of 2026
Motivated Youth Academy's Graduation for the Class of 2026 was a celebration of student growth and learning. The event honored the hard work, determination, and perseverance that helped each graduate reach this important milestone. We were especially proud to celebrate two graduates from the HMI/MY Academy partnership. The ceremony was filled with pride as students, families, educational partners, and staff came together to recognize these accomplishments and celebrate the bright futures that lie ahead.
the MYA/HMI collaboration
MYA is a charter high school based in San Diego that serves students from a wide variety of cultural and educational backgrounds, striving to fully prepare students for college, career, and life pursuits. Over the past year, MYA has collaborated with HMI to provide additional educational opportunities and support for Afghan students living in Riverside County. The students participating in this program are between the ages of 18 and 24 and have recently arrived in the United States. Many of them were unable to complete their high school education in their home country or have not yet received a high school diploma. Through this partnership, students have access to academic instruction, mentorship, and resources that help them develop important life skills and work toward their future educational and career goals. The collaboration aims to create a supportive learning environment that helps students successfully transition into life in the United States while achieving their academic aspirations.
Homa and Jawharullah
Two of Human Migration’s clients have graduated from MY Academy with flying colors!
Homa’s days at MY Academy were enveloped with support and encouragement, pushing her on to completing education in a new language. She is most proud of her persistence through it all and is eager to continue her education, get a great job, and help family in the future. She feels confident in her ability to continue her education in the United States, and is excited for what awaits in her journey.
Jawharullah’s adjustment to English was difficult, however he heard of MY Academy and its effectiveness through friends and school staff. He learned computer skills, how to complete course work independently, and how to manage time effectively. Being unafraid to ask for help was a big step forward in his studies, knowing his teachers and case managers were always there to lend a helping hand. Through his graduation, he is determined to continue build a successful career for himself and his family.
These students have blown everyone away with their dedication, perserverance, and brightness for the future. Congratulations to Homa and Jawharullah!
