HMI Youth Achievement Spotlight: Asma
We are thrilled to celebrate Asma, a shining star in the HMI community and an inspiring young leader. Asma recently made history in her family by becoming the first woman to graduate high school in the United States—a milestone that marks just the beginning of her journey.
Graduating with honors from Lincoln High School and ranking at the very top of her class, Asma has demonstrated not only academic excellence but also unwavering determination. This fall, she will take the next big step in her journey by pursuing Biology at the UC Riverside School of Medicine.
Asma is more than a student—she is a pillar of the HMI community. As a participant in our Refugee Career Pathways (RCP) program, she has thrived academically and personally. She also gives back generously, volunteering her time and talents to help HMI’s programs flourish and supporting fellow newcomers as they adjust to life in a new country.
In recognition of her achievements and impact, Asma was recently named one of Riverside’s 25 Most Remarkable Teens—a well-deserved honor for someone who exemplifies resilience and leadership.
Congratulations, Asma! We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see the incredible future you are building.
