HMI Hosts First-Ever Riverside Community Resource Fair
On Saturday, March 15th, 2025, Human Migration Institute (HMI) proudly hosted its first-ever Riverside Community Resource Fair at the Stratton Community Center in Bordwell Park. This event was designed to connect individuals and families with essential resources, fostering a healthier and more connected community.

With over 30 participating organizations and service providers, the fair offered invaluable support in areas such as medical care, mental health services, food security, affordable housing, and financial assistance. While primarily aimed at supporting the refugee community, the event welcomed all Riverside residents, particularly those experiencing health and economic disparities. To ensure accessibility, English translators were available to assist non-English-speaking attendees.

From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, attendees had the opportunity to meet with service providers, gain access to critical resources, and engage in meaningful conversations about health and well-being. Families visiting at least three resource booths received free gift cards to Stater Bros ensuring they could directly benefit from the support offered at the fair.
Children and families were also treated to a fun-filled lineup of activities, including interactive storytelling with Nicole and her puppet friend Rebecca from Puppets a la Carte. Arts and crafts, play-based learning, and engaging workshops encouraged healthy habits and community bonding.
