Everyday Community Heroes - Najwa & Max 🌟💪
Meet Najwa, a brave 10-year-old girl who recently relocated with her family from #Afghanistan to Riverside, CA. However, her transition hasn't been easy. Despite her resilience, Najwa faced relentless bullying at school due to her limited English skills.
Heartbroken and tired of the constant torment, Najwa came home in tears one day after enduring yet another episode of hair-pulling and teasing. It was then that her mother, driven by love and determination, made the courageous decision to cut off Najwa's long hair—a symbol of her pain.
Upon hearing about Najwa's ordeal, our incredible HMI team sprang into action! Our Everyday Community Hero, Max, generously offered to give Najwa a beautiful haircut, free of charge, aiming to restore her confidence and alleviate her suffering.
After, our dedicated President and Project Director, Selin and Teresa, took Najwa out for a delightful ice cream treat—a small gesture to let her know she's not alone in this journey. We are immensely grateful to Max for embodying the true spirit of heroism and brightening the life of this incredible girl!
Najwa's story is a testament to power of compassion and unity within our community. Together, we can create a world where every individual feels valued and uplifted. Let's continue to stand against bullying and celebrate the everyday heroes who make a difference! 🫶✨💙
