Donation Giveaway & Listening Session: April 15th
At HMI, we believe in taking care of our community and our neighbors, especially those who are new to the area. That's why we were so thrilled to host our recent Donation Giveaway and Listening Session event this past April 15th, 2023.

The event was a true success, thanks to the generosity and kindness of our community members and volunteers. We were overwhelmed by the support we received and grateful to everyone who contributed to making the day a special one. We're grateful to all the families who came out to listen and learn more about the services we provide, and to the volunteers who donated and helped organize the donations we received. It was heartwarming to see people come together and support one another.
During the Donation Giveaway, attendees were able to pick up essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, baby supplies, and household items. We know that these items can make a big difference in the lives of newcomer families, and we were thrilled to be able to provide them.
During the Listening Session, we had the opportunity to share more information about our services and the enrollment process, as well as our exciting upcoming summer project. Attendees were able to enroll in the program of their choice in person and meet with those who ran each program to get more information. We made sure that even those who were interested but were not able to complete the forms by themselves, had the opportunity to enroll and receive resources with the help of staff. We hope that everyone who attended the event left with a better understanding of how HMI can support them and their families.
Getting signed up for our Community ESL Program!
We were happy to receive positive feedback from attendees about their experiences at the event. Many expressed gratitude for the essential supplies they received and enjoyed connecting with other members of the community. The families who are new to the area were able to meet, connect, and relate to the other attendees and form great connections and friendships.
Overall, we believe that our Donation Giveaway and Listening Session event had a positive impact on the local community in Riverside. We provided essential supplies to those who need them while also creating a space for people to connect share their experiences.
